Yes, but when. *!!wink!!*

I've just now read that multiple monitors are not supported in TSW .. someone should give DTG a calendar.

As someone earlier pointed out, it took 5-10 years for TS to mature. Barring the lack of AI or Multiplayer, it is now a fairly robust simulator, one of the best out there graphically speaking.

Give it time and don't blow your wads on the first day!

Just applied for my refund, only had 1 hour of play.

IMHO, it's fine to feel disappointed and ask for a refund. Is it unreasonable to think they'd fix the bugs before issuing the game?

I'd sooner spend the $32 on other TS 2017 or Run 8 content.

Evening all,
Just responding to a pm but wanted to pop my head in.

Certainly more we are planning on framerate (to do with some pretty heavy physics calculations) and a few updates from Epic, so pretty confident on that front.
Anyway,
Drive, explore and enjoy.
Feedback to the usual place at DTG is always welcome.

cheers

I think people are simply ticked, given all the hype. I have your locomotives, and it's safe to say you put the time into developing the product before putting it on sale. I understand the economics of developing a new game, but putting out the product before it's ready isn't the way to go.

I mean really, look at Jurrasic Park! When it opened on the first day, nothing worked! !*don-know!*

I want a robust and solid foundation to build my next collection of routes and train on. TSW at the moment doesn't provide this. Perhaps lots of refunds provide some incentive to try and do better.

If it were a game, it wouldn't matter, but from a state of the art simulator I demand more: top notch performance and realism.

Ok, I just don't get the asking for a refund thing. You have the game, and it's borked. You paid a discounted price for it, and there will be ongoing updates. so WHY would you ask a refund, then when it is fixed, have to buy it all over again? Let sit on the hard drive and collect magnetic dust, then play it when it's fixed.

I like TSW so far, it feels more real than TS17. I had a few frame rate issues and i fixed them by reducing the screen percentage. Had a few glitches when watching my train go by, the air hoses would rise in the air for 2 secs and disappear really fast. I been playing TS for 5 years. Just got to get used to it, when i first started TS it was like ridding a bike with no training wheels, just gotta get a feel for it. I'm interested to see an ES44 and other companies.

Well just in to post a couple quick impressions...

The 360 controls are different than TS2017. Really hard to get used to but I'm getting better. Played Cumberland Charge for a bit with all graphics settings maxed out to Ultra. Just running down the hill with the 2 locos (no attached cars) I was getting in 1080p (i7-6700HQ, GTX 1070, 16GB RAM laptop) about 45fps to 55fps most of the time, then it lowered to the 30s and even 20s at times going through the town. In 4K res I was running in the 30s and into the 20s most of the time. The 4K res frame rates overall were more consistent and of a more narrow range than were the 1080p frame rates. Overall... better than I thought they would be....ESPECIALLY in 4K res.

I had to use MSI Afterburner to get an on-screen FPS counter because for some reason the normal Nvidia ShadowPlay FPS counter would not appear in TSW..... where as it works just fine in TS2017 and in all but one of my collection of games. I'll have to test if it even allows me to record with ShadowPlay since it's not allowing the FPS counter.

My GTX 1070 was at 99% usage most of the time, with occasional dips down to 88% and pegging at 100% at times. My GPU was running at 67C and the CPU around 82C to 87C.

I'll play it a lot more before giving any further impressions. I just upgraded to Run 8 V2 today along with getting the Cajon Pass DLC for it....so I'm gonna be quite busy for awhile. *!greengrin!*

I don't get it. !*don-know!*

One of the main reasons to use a game engine like Unreal 4 is for multiple core support. Why build the new sim to use just 1 core?
From what I've been reading for months, this multi core thing had to be designed into the individual assets, which they obviously didn't do.
This is info I've read in developer forums for other games that use the same game engine.
I gather it's true and therefor CSX Heavy Haul will never be optimized.

This is why I was so skeptical a few months back during the beta. From what I knew at the time, they weren't going to "optimize" anything without redoing a whole lot of assets.

I'm liking TSW, it's much better than TS2017, even though it totally isn't perfect. I was expecting problems, that's any game launch for you, but I still preordered to get that 20% off. I was definitely going to get TSW anyway, so why not get it on sale, even if it'll have its bugs in the state I'll get it in, to save the money now? As Jerry is saying, we might be complaining now, but if everyone is going to rebuy it once the complaining is done, why not just keep it now? Oh, and also send some of this stuff to DTG. The biggest problem I have with all this complaining is that nobody seems to want to let DTG know, while also expecting it to get fixed. You gotta bug DTG, and not just bug the forums or Steam reviews. DTG does see that, but it's much easier to brush that aside as mass hysteria than a formal and calm email. As for my performance, 30 fps pretty much, but that's totally fine for me. I remember people saying not to buy a game once because it was locked at 30 fps. I got that old game and I could never honestly say it looked like 30 fps. The difference between a game at a constant 60 fps and a different game at a constant 30 fps is not as big as people act like it is. It's when the fps fluctuates that the difference between 60 fps and 30 fps becomes noticeable.

Errr since when does sending email to Dovetail fix things???
The couplers in Cajon Pass are easy pezi to fix, but haven't been in years... That's just one example.

There is no way to get third party products because i doubt anyone has made them yet for TSW. Are you referring to rail driver?

JerryC wrote:All content files are packed in .PAK format, which cannot be opened via conventional methods. Fail. !*not-ok*!

The game looks to be incomplete. Fail !*not-ok*!

Have no inputs on that. I hate it how they opted for a PAK format instead of a conventional AP file.

That seems nice atleast!
