The train and most of the scenery looks great, however the buildings (especially the freighter) are not textured well.

Anchorage (on the north end of the route) barely peaks above 60 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer and averages around 20 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter with nights near 0 or below. Also remember with how crazy their daylight situation is. Some parts of Alaska can see almost total darkness for up to 18 hours a day in the winter and they can have up to 18 hours of sunlight in the summer (especially near each equinox). Imagine an eclipse that just freezes itself in place that's generally how it goes in Alaska. It's insane what those people gotta deal with. It truly is "America's Final Frontier".

...Also apparently they AVERAGE around 6.5ft (2m) of snowfall a year. It's just crazy...

Nice addition to the Far North route ... I hope there will be bears included with the route, and there will be lots of snow in winter.

I am curious to know what is the price for US customers to purchase The Alaska Railroad: Anchorage - Seward Route Add-On. Here in Canada the price is $45.49. Wow a lot more than other route addons in the past. I probably will ask my son who is a Steam customer in U.S. to get me one but need to know the price first before asking him to get me one. Let me know what is the price for this?

Currently at $39.99, I wouldn't pay that for this dlc, but that's me, I base it on the reviews and detail, from most of the ones I have seen, it uses the same scenery objects and misplaced and left out a lot of detail area's "according to one of the reviewers who lives in the area" So I would at least wait for a sale which I believe the next one maybe this month or end of the month.

I am fascinated that everyone seems to be so enamored with one reviewer who "lives in the area" supposedly who doesn't like where something is at in placing some scenery. Most of us have never been there nor ever will be so who can say. I have ridden on the Alaska RR and think they did a pretty darn good job of giving you the atmosphere and feel of the route and the State. This kind of nit picky stuff is why about half the time us route builders want to throw up our hands and give it up. Whether it's worth $10 or $50 is not the point. The route is over a hundred miles long and goes from a logical start (two of them) to a logical stop and is very prototypical. They have done a great job with distant scenery (even have a glacier) and I think they should be given a lot of credit for this unique and unusual railroad.

If you want a whole bunch of custom buildings and such would you be willing to pay $100 for this? I think not.
Rant off.

Whoa, whats with the defensive comment, I think we all have a right to our opinion. We all have a right to speak it to, when it comes to dlc that I as a consumer will either pay for etc.. You do not speak for me on that behalf regarding whether I pay for something vs this or that. You speak of wanting to give up on making stuff just because what? You don't know if I would be willing to pay $100 or not. And to be honest, I am more willing to pay for new models and routes than what's released on TS any giving day! just like the project that is being done "Big Sky Country Route" I am willing to pay for that.
