"Cry computer havoc, and let loose the dogs of Simulation!"

Still no AI improvments? Throwing the Golden Apple of DLC out to distract us from the the lack of talk about Multiplayer (could this be Relay Play?).

Don't know about ya'll, my TS2012 is staying offline and locked tight until we see what grief (or joy) round 2 of the Great Update brings us.

EDIT: Gamers Hell is reporting Relay Play as Multiplayer. Seems to me RSC should have stated that in big bold letters with lots of exclamation marks instead what amounts to a passing reference.

Yea, I'll be honest, I'm not exactly happy about this announcement. !*not-ok*!

Well I will be the first fan boy to comment on this !*roll-laugh*!

I am actually pretty excited for this, for a few reasons. First is the quick play, since really all I do now is pretty much freeroam; I will be able to do this much easier. Second I am actually a bit interested in this controller support. Also it seems that this time around there are no updates that require previous content to be updated, unlike last time.

Personally I did not have any trouble (except for some performance lost) last time a major update came rolling around, but I will have to wait till that saturday to play since my RW computer will be at home and I will be at college.

I also like the fact that I will be able to get the 3 new/recent routes that I want for pretty cheap!

Can you imagine the issue with the upgaded ES44 that will happen? Broken repaints, broken scenarios. The ES 44 is used in almost all scenarios. And what about the driver for the gamepad? Will it be loaded by default using up precious RAM or on demand? After the the current disaster with the Dash 9, how can they be trusted to do the right thing?

Well looks good to me. Remember though as we found out with the Dash 9, if it is broke, send them an email. Bitchin' in the forum accomplishes nothing.

Does this mean I gotta wait 'till September 20th for Sherman Hill? I've already got London/Brighton and I don't care for the German route or the ICE 3 so a full costly upgrade is not worth it for me.

No different than when they launched TS2012 - Horseshoe Curve and a couple of other items weren't part of the original package, and few cried foul then. You're still getting a heck of a deal in that RSC is keeping their promise to offer free upgrades. IMHO, TS2013, "lite" or otherwise, looks to be an amazing package.
Cheers!

I'm quite sure, as happened many with other locomotives (differently of Dash 9), that new ES44 will be an independent locomotive as part of SH pack (product/folder).
Good improvement in the UK routes with more TS2012 vegetation (hopefully the same on SH), enhancing the eyes-candy.
Nice new and smaller F4 HUD (can be modded/reduced even more), but unfortunatelly it seems they didn't touched the instruction's screen (popping up in front and in the middle of screen), once Quick Drive (a welcome sort of freeroam), doesn't use it. Don't expect QD working in single lines long sections, UK routes have usually multiple tracks, and RSC is a British company.
The Relay Play must be the (a sort of) multiplayer version (maybe only relaying essential data when really needed, ie close to the meetings' time).
I can see further problems with standart scenarios and local/regional versions of game, but with the new Quick Drive feature it seems they are no long worried with "standart" scenarios. The same that happened with when was created F4 to be used in the place of RailDriver console.

Excelent and amazing eyes-candy game for gamers, no doubt. For sure I'll be on board, and happier !!*ok*!!
Hard core users' life moves onwards... as is, no problem at all. *!!wink!!* We survived so far... and still will, for a long long time. !!*ok*!!

One moew issue that bothers me. They state that to get TS2013 and the three routes listed I would have to purchase the more expensive version of TS2013. Since I already have purchased the ' London to Brighton ' route, it seems that I would have to pay for the route again to get the update. That does not seem right and needs clarification. It may well be that the L/B route will be updated with the free TS2013, but the way it is worded it does need to be clarified.

Aren't Steam offering the 3 routes from 2013 in a bundle pack?

I also recently bought the Brighton twin pack so was looking into this issue, the German route I've heard is only 50km long, that's only 15 minutes of checking out the new ICE at 200 km/h.

I'll be getting it. I spend lots of time driving my trains and enjoying it. I also like to play World of Tanks which is a free, to a point. You can spend real money to play and advance quicker. It is not a lot of my entertainment dollars for the enjoyment I get from it. Also the other train sims come out with a new version each year and have the same problems. We gladly pay for payware and sometimes are not so satisfied but we continue on. It will have the best graphics of all the others and route building is still better than the others. If you want more realistic driving then try the others. It's not a problem to have more than one sim. So I say bring it on. :D

Just wish they could give us a default US steam locomotive.

Hope though that it continues to run decently on my computer after the update. As in, I have to run it with TSX off just to be able to run it. It won't run on TSX on this junk Windows 7 computer. One would think it should work better because this is a Windows 7, but no, it acts like junk.

Can't afford another computer either.
