I've got a real good one here..
I downloaded the F-7 Rock island repaints last night and its really weird. I can put them into the scenario and give them a driver, but when i save the scenario, all that shows up are the couplers.. I cant figure it out.. Anyone got any ideas???
Pam
PS. I've deleted the mega pak and the f7s and reinstalled them, but still no joy..

That usually means a GEO file is missing.

Agreed.. But i can see them in the scenario editor plain as day.. like i said, i can add a driver to them, which cant be done when the geo file is missing.. its very bizarre..

Perhaps you are missing the geo for the in-cab view. It would be skipped over in the editor and then can't be found when you start the scenario so you get couplers.

Couple things. First, I still think its a GEO problem. Both the RI repaints are for the older Britkit models. You probably have the most current model which was optimized for TS2012, so thing are not matching properly between the old and new.
The old repaint will NOT work on the new model. I am afraid that you will need to wait for MadMike to redo his work, which I believe is still on his list.

I was curious about that yesterday Papa.. I did a lot of pokin around and found others who had the exact same problem. They seemed to have for some small number of them, fixed it by changing their anti aliasing settings. I did that, it didnt work.. This makes me tend to agree with you.
Speaking of Mike, I gave him permission to repaint the Mopac E7 liveries for the new model. I wanted to get him the PSDs, but there never were any as i did the entire livery in 3ds max. Kinda felt bad about that.. I've decided i'm gonna Work on the Rock Island line for paints.. Theres a few out there, and some are downright beutiful ( like the E7 paint for Dicks EMD, and the Legacy Paint on Cesars FA-1 ), but theres a ton that are missing ( the ones i thought were ugly as sin as i walked by them as a kid ). Theres Geeps, U boats, streamliners, and then theres this oddball ES-44 run by Iowa Interstate in RI legacy Paint. Its gorgeous. Since i spent so many years walkin the rock island mainline as a kid going fishin, and since I threw so many rocks at the cars they were carrying, I think maybe its a good thing.. keeps me in touch with my birthplace.. :)..

How's that look so far? Details to do, and the B needs some help.
As an aside: I have the RI 'Rocket' E7 moved forward and near complete. Richard is working on the F series right now, so there will be upgrades there as well.
Also: Do you have the original photo you worked from? I can't seem to find one.

I have a similar problem with the Britkit 2-6-0 and 2-6-2, except that mine only shows the couplers period. Then the scenario editor crashes. I've worked with Dick Cowan several times to fix the problem, but no success. Sure do hope someone can come up with a solution.

heh.. the odd things you find laying around the web....

Now, what confused me then and still does is that the E-7 had "round" windows on the engine. It was th Alco that had square/rectangular windows.. So when i saw an E7 with rectangular windows, i was understandably confused..

I think the only critique i could offer is regarding the eagle.. Mpac's eagles are big and bold as you can see in the images below. They wrap around the nose easily taking up a quarter of the space available with the wingtips meeting two thirds of the way past the number boards..
Now, I didnt use one of the red devices in the eagle because each device represented the particular eagle it was attached too, and i wanted to find a way to represent all of the eagles. leaving the device off ( like the texas lone star flag ) was the solution i chose..

I use Model Railroader's Diesel locomotive Cyclopedia For most of my references and most the E7s (plans and pictures) have SQUARE windows

There are two pictures with round portholes. One for Missouri Pacific where the caption says "portholes were specified by the company, and one for Frisco who apparently changed the look of their E7s after the had their new E8s.
There I rest my case M'lud.
On a side issue. The F mega pack F3 - F9 should be ready tomorrow (UK time)
