Are there any decent ALCO sounds at all anywhere?!?!

Any kind of sound pack? It seems these engines have been just completely swept under the rug. We have sound packs for every type of loco except ALCOs and the 251 engine. **!!bang!!** ARe there even some indian made sound packs? I've already tried the RS11 replacement sounds and they're not that spectacular. I may just have to go up to a local short line historic railway and record their RS11 and RS1 next year. !*drool*! !*drool*! !*drool*! !*don-know!*

I would assume you have Dogmouse's ALCO RS-1. If for some reason you don't then try it's sounds. They aren't bad but I'm not an "ALCO-holic" so the sounds might not fit what you're looking for. !*don-know!*

Dogmouse made an Alco S2.

Yes that would be freeware (S2). The RS-1 sounds more enhanced in my opinion.

Thanks guys. I have the RS-2. I'm not sure if I have the rs-1 though, I'll check the file library!

Anyways, I wasn't kidding about recording sounds so we'll see what I'm doing this summer. If any sound experts here are willing to help me out by letting me know which particular sounds to record, I will do so and send them the files. There is a RR called York-Durham which takes on volunteers every season and it's just a bus ride away. They have a working RS-1 and RS-11.

The RS-1 comes with the RW&A route (payware). You can buy the route for $15 or just buy the RS-1 for $10. (RW&A sold here on RWA)

Just checked and I have it. Forgot all about the RWA route. I haven't played it since it came out.

I found some good sounds for the S2 on youtube. At 4:00 they even blast the horn. The dogmouse S2 is a decent model and easy to paint, but the horn sounds like it was recorded from a toy train.
