I notice their not showing screen shots of the turntable. I wonder if they have an actual "Challenger" size turntable or will we be stuck with the default one? I'm hoping for the best and expcting the worst.

At least we now know it's going to be as prototypical as they can get it. !*roll-laugh*!

And what scrying tool are you gazing into to see that? I hope your right, but I'm actually betting on the 30th. I believe they still have a lot to do including creating the activities before they are ready to release it.

I'm fairly certain that it was a different team working on Sherman Hill.

Yes, but Derek is in charge of SH project, so we should see a good balance between art and performance.

I hope the screen shots so far are just "Work in Progress", and when they do get around to actually creating activities they take into consideration the actual trackage used for East bound and West bound traffic. So far, the screenies seem to be backwards from what Uncle Pete actually does. West bound from Cheyenne should be on track 3, the Harriman Line from Cheyenne to Hermosa, and on either tracks 1 or 2 from there into Laramie. East Bound out of Larami should be on thrak 3 to Hermosa, then track 1 on into Cheyenne. This gives the uphill traffic a slightly lesser grade to conquer.

Thanks for the track assignments Dcushing. Do you possibly have access to a listing of the trains that operate over Sherman Hill?

Everything moving East and West minus the Sunset Route & traffic for Denver (that goes Moffet Route) goes over Sherman. No Amtrak unless it's a re-route. The number is over 100 in 24 hours. I'll try to find a complete train line-up..

The last two pictures of "Sherman Hill" actually look like Cheyenne, and the shot from a couple of weeks ago showing the motel complex just to the west is "spot on", as they say across the pond. I really hope this does not turn out to be another "Donner Pass", but then I still have hopes for seeing a revision made there soon.

I agree. I went to Cheyenne chasing the 844 on June 30-July 1 and it looks awesome! I really can see myself standing next to the steam shops there, but they are missig a lot of clutter around.
I know it's a WIP, but the clutter in the yard is what will take the cake!

Those roads on the overpasses are wrong though, it IS a 2 lane 1 way street on both viaducts, not the way it's pictured.

overall, it looks great!

Most of the additional clutter would be in front of the steam shop, but to fill it would likely bring your PC to its knees. IMHO, there's more than enough in the WIP screens to give the feel of Cheyenne. :D

I thing the new route is the Sherman Hill Route. On the railsimulator page, it said something about it.

+1 I dont need boxes and barrels to tell me that they modeled Cheyenne !*roll-laugh*!

I don't either, but this would be what puts it over the top, and what makes it as prototypical as possible!

The "clutter" is just all those spare parts cars/F units and such, and to accurately represent Cheyenne WY, those are a must.
