Alll good in the hood.

TS 2013... I must say.. I really don't have anything bad to say.. I actually prefer it over 2012 a lot. It actually feels like a dignified piece of software now and not some Frankenstein upstart project.

Love the menu system
Love the menu system remembers the last thing you choose
Love the load times
Love the performance improvements

Nothing but positives from me..

Repaints.. Good to go.. Upscaled the cab and cap textures to 2048x2048, uncompressed instead of compressed, fixed the bump map to remove the orange peel.

We're in business.. Now time to go convert the rest of the textures for it :) .

yep that's VIA's new livery, they've had it for about 2-3 years now on their F40's, but it wouldn't work for the F40 we have in RW because when VIA repainted them they also upgraded them from a F40PH-2 to a F40PH-3, which encloses the rear porch and adds a few new vents.

I think the first 1 or 2 they painted like this they left that new feature out (edit: VIA 6400 is the only one I found without it) but all I have seen in person have that feature. Also something to note is that VIA put the ditch lights on the frame just above the plow unlike Amtrak who intergraded them into the body.

yea, they had it look good on the Dash-9's where the panels had that effect but it was large making every bend in the steel around 1-2ft away from each other, now on their newer stuff it literally looks like an old beaten up unit that looks like the steel has the surface of an orange.

I get it now. That ever so slight wrinkled, tin foil wrap texture look.

Exactly.. I'm just very... Particular about certain things.. Some locomotives the orange peel I don't even get annoyed with.. The F40PH I instantly noticed it and it just bothered me. :) I'm a tad OCD sometimes. *!!wink!!*

Styckx,

Would you consider creating a reskin of the SD45 in Southern Pacific ? Now that the Donner Pass enhancement patch is only hours away, it would be great to have an SD45 running over the pass..

I have all your "older" reskins and they look great !

So wadda ya say old buddy old pal ? *!!wink!!*

Don't bother. You remember the roadnames list for the SD45 they announced a while back?

Looking at this mess further. I probably won't do any reskins until a way is found to decompress RSC's TgPcDx with the alpha intact. I mean.. Reskins are doable, it's not impossible.. It's just not any fun and if it's not fun why even bother trying. Not anyones fault.. DXT5 is a good compression method and I don't blame them for wanting to use it.

Well styckx, i can see i need more "fruits" to lure you into this... How about a dozen women delivered to your door, and a sixpack of ice cold beer of your choice ? *!greengrin!*

From what i could understand from bnsfdude someone is probably already working on an SP reskin.. How about a Conrail SD45 ? What a beast ! I do recall you being a Conrail man.. *!!wink!!*

Is there no easier way to decompress or compress or whatever? Derek, are you reading this thread? We need to get styckx going with reskin work *!twisted!*
