The default cablight of K4 casts shadows so it's intersting (no doubt) however is impacting too much the fps because screen game becomes plenty of shadows. The mod cablight, beyond more red/yellow and softer (simulating the glow light from firebox), will not cast shadows, therefore the overall perfomance will have no impact.
So far I have also a medium spec machine, but with the new core update even in the zone of 10-14fps the game is smoother. Anyway the LEP will have 3 install packs, according to users' machine performance:
a) Normal (with headlights up to 210ms) for medium rigs;
b) Extreme (with headlights up to 500ms in huge engines like ES44AC) for modern rigs;
c) HFPS (Higher fps) in which the headlight doesn't cast shadows, therefore fps won't drop in low machines (same fps with headlight on or off).

That update looks amazing. The immersion factor in this sim is increasing by the day. Hopefully before the end of time I can get my K4's to actually work - that being the case, this will be a definite "Must Have".

!*cheers*!

I know that this is going off topic, but I already have the enhancement pack for the game from Trains and Driver, and I have to say it is awesome all the things it does! Cannot wait!

Please report it to RSC, as the more people who mention it the more likely it is to get fixed!

I think you'll find that a missing roof, gaps between the cab and first wagon/tender is endemic on recent RSC creations, the British diesels are no better, even the default Class 55 Deltic locomotive has a nose from the exterior view, but, you don't see it from where you are sat in the drivers seat, as they didn't make one for the cab view. I personally doubt the default locos will get looked at in the future, I don't think they'll do anything for the British, or, American DLC locomotives, either, but, you might just get lucky, call me cynical John, but, the recent cab view camera won't rotate more than 180 degrees, probably, as they don't want you to see what they haven't created in the cabs.

I don't think you can - here's how you can tell. When you're in the driver's seat press the globe icon on the HUD to put the camera in freeroam but don't move from where you're sitting. The view you now see is the exterior model of the loco (and the world) rather than the cabview. You still can't see the nose on the Deltic. Almost likewise for the F7, so little of it is visible (a few pixels only) that it wouldn't have been worth the effort to create it.
