Here's whats wrong with the ground throw targets: Image

And here's why its important: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJrhxaaTSq8

But like I said, its easily fixed manually by editing texture sheets or using the file here in the library. Search "GaryG-Donner_Pass_Switch_Target_Fix"

I noticed something else (unchanged from the original) - the track appears awfully light for a Class-1 mainline - the rail looks like 40lb stock!
Cheers!

Apparently the coupler springiness wasnt changed, either, because my fixes from last November were not overwritten - so I'm assuming the crazy derailments still happen.

After applying the sound fix for the SD40's, and the sill stripe fix (again), I'm pretty happy! It looks like they put whistleposts before all the crossings, too (I dont remember that being the case before).

But seriously, what is going on with these autoracks? The couplers are all over the place! (brown thing under the car is the loco and car couplers!)

Image

Couplers are hard to see, but they're inbetween the rails. If I zoom in any closer...they disappear.

I also noticed that the locomotive cabs dont seem to have any lights...when going into tunnels, the cab goes pitch black. Cant see a thing except the headlight.

Yep I got it (like it or not).. Yeah it's pretty, but..... Once again another 'over the hill and through the woods to Gramma's house we go', with nothing to do route. A hundred and fifty miles, (or what ever it is), of nothing! But, then again I knew what it was going to be like before it came out because I had the old version. So no surprises, just better scenery and trackage. Just glad I didn't have to pay for it.

When... Is RSC, RW, Trainsim, what ever they call themselves these days, going to realize there's more to North America than west coast mountain ranges, and/or dessert ? (let alone more than one country!), We actually do have midwestern plains and eastern rolling hills farm land. With lots of sub yards and industries to work. But, what's the next route they're supposedly working on? Some west coast BNSF/SP route.. Oh surprise!

Yes I know... There are payware/freeware eastern routes out there, I have them... Right now I'm messing with Rich Garbers Fort Smith to Heavener. It's a great job. I'm a free-roamer (laugh if you will). But it's taken me over two hours to make up and block a train for a run Van Buren to Heavener, and I still have the Heavener end to make up yet. And when I'm done with this will I be running the same way and working the same industries? Not on your life, it'll be totally different. I've been using train simulators since MSTS 1st came out. And I have never been an activity/scenario fan. I've tried them, some of the are very good. But after you run them once, that's it. After that, well they're somewhat boring to be honest. I just like the option of doing it different next time in free-roaming As I said I have a lot of different routes, I like Ian's BNSF Seattle (yeah I know it's west coast, but at least there's something to do), and Thomas' P&LE to name just a couple. As long as there's something to do other than run A to B, I'm all for it.

The whole point point this rant (forgive me folks, but I just had to vent!) is... Come on RSC, and I know they don't even read this forum, but as I say I just had to vent.. Give us something besides a western A to B nothing to do route ( and I include Sherman Hill because there's not much to do ).. We deserve better than that!

So why are you bitching here? Go over to train.sim or steam forums. This accomplishes nothing here.

I personally have no problems with opinions but when you start calling RSC out that is just rude. Try a little civility . It'll get you a lot more.

I believe many were expecting minimal bugs, but some of the same glaring issues that were brought up before, misaligned couplers for example. Something that should have been caught at least by the beta team and easily fixed in the blueprints.

OK, but way far and away what I see here is folks that didn't get a complete update and they are asking questions and getting things straightened out not just griping about RSC like that post. As far as the couplers are concerned I have been using the brit kit ones forever so I am not seeing that I don't think. Have not run those particular cars yet, and yes I agree someone could have caught it. I am just pleased as can be with the improvements and all for free.

Your dream of a perfect, harmonious forum is never going to happen out here in the real world. If you just allow people to express themselves without all the objection to any form of complaint, I think you'll find the popularity of the forum actually increase. People like a bit of drama from time to time, and it's also one of the most prolific facts of life that it is impossible to have positive with negative.

I agree with everything you say here. I guess I was just brought up that being polite particularly with strangers was considered good behavior and it's so easy to just complain about everything and anything on these forums. I thought we were here to help each other out not just rip on things. Maybe I don't understand. I have enough drama in my life, I don't really need it here. I think if you look back I don't complain about people's conduct very often.

I think it's sufficed to say that everyone harbours the expectation of politeness toward individuals. Companies whom we've paid money to, not so much. I made a critical grammatical error... I meant to say "You can't have positive withOUT negative". I'm sure you knew what I meant anyway !!*ok*!!

I just took a look and the auto cars from Sherman Hill have the couplers placed correctly so hopefully this is a simple fix.

The orginal Donner had couplings used from the Old USrailsimulator folder structure along with its stock.
I made new coupler files and copied the wagons over into the donner folder structure.

So any 3rd party fixes would not have been over written. However if any train stretching or 'crazyness' is happening then please email support.
I have to admit I never noticed the auto car couplers nor did anyone else but an easy fix post Christmas, same goes for the switch strand.

cheers

Thanks for listening in and picking up on these comments. Derek.

Awaiting this quickfix, and hopefully we'll finally be able to fully enjoy the route as it was originally intended. The new scenery was worth the wait.

Regarding the stretching couplers, almost all of the Buckeye/Type-E couplers folders need fixing, both in the old Kuju asset folder structure and in the new RSC asset folders that contain US rolling stock.

Hopefully you'll be able to fix these once and for all, for instance by appling the Sherman Hill RSC couplers to all of the older rolling stock? That way all US stock has the same couplers with connecting brake hoses.
