Don't get me wrong, I love RSC and I'm all for new DLC, but I really have to hand it to Gtrax. Rick put his current project on hold and updated all of his add ons to TS2012 standards and fixed what TS2012 broke (Thank you Rick). Two months later and RSC is pumping out payware on a weekly basis and my Dash 9's and SD70's ( my two favorites) are still dark and dry, and the grilles on my SD70's and SW1500's are following the locos around like a bunch of lemmings. **!!bang!!**
It would just be nice if the guys at RSC would take a little time to work on the money I've already spent instead of the money I'm going to spend.

I suspect someone wanted to make it, so they made it. At some point people are going to start making freeware vehicles of things available as payware DLC, so it can go both ways. Is there anything bundled with this one? Edit: P70 coaches, whatever they are, I am blind. Same things we got with HSC?

Fixes are indeed overdue. I'm not going to start complaining just yet though.

Yea P70's are in the HSC. Guess they are gonna bundle them with the GG1 just to have something to pull behind the G down the NEC.. *!rolleyes!*

I'll be honest, as nice as Dick's trains are, they don't quite match up to the standard of RSC's stuff. All of Dick's trains are based on MSTS models (I think), and the sounds and cab views generally aren't as nice as RSC's either, which is a big deal for me since I spend most of my time in the cab. Dick has a great variety of versions for all his diesels that is good for modeling a specific prototype, but if RSC comes out with something that fits the same prototype I'll take the RSC version.

That being said, RSC needs to spend a lot more time fixing both the core game and all the DLC that the upgrade broke and a lot less time pumping out new stuff. It's absurd that it's taken them this long and they still haven't fixed so many of the most popular DLC items.

I am going to disagree to some extent here. Some of this newer models are extremely good (the MP15 being a good example). I am also of the mind to vote with my money. If someone else puts forth the effort to make the customer happy then they get my $$.

Amfleets are fine behind GG1's, just need a phase scheme change.. They ran Amfleets for many years. AEM-7s running with them would be fine also. The two ran together for a couple years.. After all the AEM-7 was brought in to finally retire the GG1's. I'd much prefer some AEM-7 and Amfleets in phase 2 rather than getting the P70's.. Honestly, the GG1's pulling around P70's is going to look rather silly on the NEC.

I'm going to disagree as well! Dick Cowen's models are definately on par with anything RSC comes out with. PLUS, and it's a BIG plus, he's jumped right in and is updating every single piece of rolling stock he's ever created, up to RW3/ TS2012 standards. RSC needs to take a lesson from Mr. Cowen. His GG1 is outstanding. Let them try and get all the cab levers to work. He did. !!*ok*!!

There'd be a certain irony there also *!lol!* ...

( maybe a kit of sorts , basic shell and seperate child components ( since 1 size don't fit all ) no paint but all with friendly UVs ... GP38 and 2 , GP40 and 2 , SD40 and 2 ? .... I'd maybe be interested in such a free group project from mid Feb 2012 onwards ?? )

Mmm. I don't know how the game attaches children - I am rather hoping it just binds them into the model like they were seperate objects inside the geo file - but other than that I can't see any reason not to build a model out of child objects. You'd have to have a main frame with the trucks on it or they wouldn't turn, but it'd certainly be good to have easily interchangeable cabs/noses.

A nice library of engine/car components for popular 3d editors would be another good thing - trucks, brake cylinders, handles etc.

I am wondering if maybe Mr. Cowen and RSC are partnered up on the project?

papaXpress,
I know what you mean. Maybe silent partner. Who knows.
I was hoping to see a SD7 or SD9 in the future.

GreatNortherner started a SD9, not sure where he is at with it.

Yesterday I decided to get the update for my Britkits steel works pack. I naturally couldn't find the original message from Mr. Cowen with the link and password. I sent an E-mail to Mr. Cowen about 3:00 PM Friday afternoon. Shortly after 4:00 PM, I had a return E-mail with the required information. The update not only has the headlight working as it should but also has precipitation on the windows which the wipers will remove. He also included an additional locomotive, some type of engine to move coke cars around and two coke cars. Meanwhile, my herd of engines from RSC runs around with headlights not working and body parts floating in the air. If I ever buy a GG1, I will buy it from Britkits.
