I really like it! Nice work!

However, I did notice that the horn goes a bit long... anyone mod that yet? :-)

Thanks
Don

The route in styckx post seems to be the Bay of Quinte (can be found here in the Library).
The horn issue was reported to RS.com. Derek has promised to bring a fix for the bugs of the SW1500 in the future.

The CN one has air filters/baffles/something(?? top of the exhaust) in external view, but someone made off with them by the time you get in the cab, just to get it noted down.

I tweaked the brake timings with the ones from the TEM2 for want of owning anything else similar, and the loco brake is actually useful for switching now without needing 20s anticipation.

I think something is up with the BN Scenario on Castle Rock for the SW1500 also... it's called Road Work.
Having problems managing switches, then after I did a Validation of my RW, which couldn't validate 45 files... then I had problems with coupling to the caboose.
I'll post it in the problems forum tomorrow...

I just got mine during the 4th of July Steam sale. Sweet. The SW 1500 looks and sounds wonderful. Just like everyone being saying here. But I too am having trouble with Castle Rock scenarios. I keep getting derailments and collisions. Don't know if its the routes fault or not. I'm trying to load the SW 1500 in another route but can't find it in the list. Anyone have suggestions?

well of course make sure it's checked off in the RSC section of the asset box, other than that it'll be listed as EMDSW1500Switcher*roadname*, at least it is on mine, hope this is helps....

I just have to ask to confirm this as I may be missing something here.

In simple control mode, I can't get the SW1500 to reverse directions. Is this normal?

Hi Jerry,
You did not specify so I"m guessing the RSC SW1500 DLC? Of course I've never looked at the SW1500 that comes with the PP route so it may have the same problem? There is invalid data in the "SimpleChamgeDirection" section. These are the correct values for that section.

DefaultValue = 1
MinimumValue = -1 ( minus 1 )
MaximumValue = 1

You'll have to manually update all of the locomotives bin files *!sad!* as I'm not aware of an automated process to update them.

Regards,
Rich S.

Sorry about that. Yes, I am talking about the "new" SW1500. I also have the Phorum Peninsula version and it has no problem with reverse in simple controls.

Thanks for your advice, I will update the necessary files.

Which .bin file and with what editor. I opened one .bin file with Notepad and found the SimpleChangeDirection lines, but no numbers, just a bunch of ASCII characters. Is there a program that opens up the files properly so the information can be changed or am I missing something?
