Changing Cabviews?

Unread postby ET44C4 » Sat Apr 07, 2018 2:49 pm

Would it be possible to change the interior cab views on a locomotive? What I would like to try and do is place the DTG C40-8W cab into a repaint I am working on for the Eyein12 C40-8W. Just not sure if it is possible because the .GeoPcDx will be looking at the DTG textures...

!*don-know!*

You basically have to copy all of the control values in the engine.bin file. It's in between the </CarriageInteriorInterface> and <ContainerComponent>. Everything in between there should be references to controls and such. You'll have to repaint the DTG Dash 8 in order for the cab view to show up in the correct colors. After all of that is done, you can swap the cab geo reference directory. After that, all of it should work as usual. However, be aware that it might not work. I've been able to swap cabs with their locomotives only (like swapping a Dash 9 and GEVO cabview).

You may have to do some work with the InputMappers as well.

Thank you for your response, thegevo5k.

What you have explained makes perfect sense. I will try it out and see if I can successfully get everything working. !!*ok*!!

This is a very complex task to do. !*hp*!
While swapping cab controls may work in some cases, in "most cases" there are scripted controls.
