Portland Terminal Route not available anymore at Steam store?

Unread postby cnbalasub » Fri Jan 01, 2016 9:34 pm

I was searching through at the store of Steam to find the route addon of Portland Terminal which was created by ricksan here in this forum. I did look up the app id number and came up with different item and this time with Boston and Maine GP20 locomotive with the same app id before for Portland Terminal Route Addon through Steam. Guess I am out of luck to get this route because this route is no longer available at Steam but wonder if ricksan will let me purchase this route from him.

Thank you,

John

I wonder if Rick Grout aka ricksan will be able to help with this route if he see our replies here in this forum. Thanks for checking this at Steam store.

Quote from email I sent to DTG about this route. "The item you have enquired about has been withdrawn from sale due to circumstances beyond our control."

This is being worked on and will be resolved one way or the other. When this route was created there was a lot less bureaucrats at DTG with little to do except poke around with possible licensing issues so there were a lot of items with name plates of one sort or another and needs to be worked out. If DTG decides to not sell this in the future other arrangements will be made however there are things there that are their property so it will have to be worked out if they will let them be used or modifications will have to be made. In any event rest assured it is being worked on to get this back into the community.

They are still advertising this though http://store.steampowered.com/app/222548/ for the route.

Is there any news about the status route? I love it, especially crossing the swing bridge and switching the B&M plant I see when I travel to the family cottage in Augusta. I just wish it extended farther north or south (or both). Someday someone has to do the Mountain Division. I would love to pound some Mallets or U18s through the notch in a blizzard..

I had hoped it was down to be brought up to 2016 standards but it sounds like it was really what I feared, licensing..

I suppose we should back it up in case the resolution is to neuter the branding and make all the locos UP or something crazy. I am good to go but I feel bad for new TS users who won't get to experience it.

They have been good about responding to my direct queries in the past but I didn't want to bug them if there was some general knowledge of the situation it could be linked to here.
