Crossbuck Model Request

Unread postby USARailfan » Mon Jan 09, 2017 2:03 am

I'm back at it again with the requests lol.

Anyways I'm Making a BNSF branch line near my hometown and want to get it as close as possible to the real thing. Problem is I cant find the type of crossbuck used on this branch and was wondering if anyone could make them for me. (I took the pictures of my computer screen with my phone, sorry for the crappy quality)

That would be cool to have, there's a road somewhat close to me with that type, but I couldn't make it to save my life =). However, if someone else makes it I'm sure I'd be very good at placing it in a route !*roll-laugh*!

To the original poster, I know I said that I'd try this but I just completely forgot. Sorry. Luckily, it looks like someone else (who actually knows how to model) is making it!

I realize someone already started working on one, but I had to get my fingers working on a new model. I have done just about nothing because I've been busy, and my SolidWorks program expired. So, I'm now learning blender, and a Crossbuck was a perfect way to learn this new program! Gonna make a pack, crank a few more out then upload them!

I don't exactly know how to work textures in Blender yet, so its difficult for me to get things where they need to properly go, which is why textures might seem a bit off.

Don't know much else of what to add...From here I will create small signs and extra details you can add separately to customize it to the maximum on your game! (Reflective stripes, crossing # placards, ect)

Well, apologizes for the crudely modeled signs, but I don't have enough time right now to screw with blender to get the best possible shapes. In my opinion, it'll work well enough. If you want a better '# tracks' sign, I suggest using some from the massive SMM digital pack, they should work fine with this.

As separate models, there is one reflective stripe (which may be changed in size using the scale tool in game), 1-5 tracks signs, and two Crossing # placards.

I don't think I'll be able to do much more with this (including the fact that I barely understand blender), so I will upload as it is.

That is what I said (because apparently someone else didn't read the whole thread before accusing), I know someone else was doing it but I needed to learn blender and a crossbuck is simple. And mine is poor because I'm new, so his is much accepted. Plus, his wouldn't be identical, so the more the better and more variety.
Not to mention he posted he'd either start eight-seven days ago, which I did wait to see if any work was done before starting this. No harm in more models assuming he gets his done too

Do you think you could do this one aswell? I found these near Duluth. Always thought they would be cool for a flag stop!
