I could easily create one of those if someone wants to paint it. Looks like the BAR, MILW, and SOO also had very similar cars.

Looks like the Maine Central had some as well

Looking a little more like a reefer:

That looks great!

Having built freight cars before, what part of the process do you find is the most challenging? (ie: 3d modelling, scripting, animations, texturing)

I'm wondering if that thing can be set up to have refrigeration unit sounds when loaded is selected in the editor?

I'm jumping the gun here. Maybe Larry has another idea.
I don't know why, but I've had a craving for this car for so long.

I know very little about sounds, so any help would be welcome.

As to BoostedFridge's question, any phase can turn out to be the biggest challenge depending on the project. I do find that certain challenges are much more enjoyable than others. For me the tasks listed from most to least enjoyable are as follows: Research, 3D modeling, Texturing, and Export to Trainsim. I have very little experience in animation or scripting.

Very nice Larry.
This is bringing out some childhood memories of a PFE car from Athearn I had for a 4X8 layout I used to have as a kid.

If you would be so kind as to PM me when it is finished I'd appreciate it.

P.S. I am doing some repaints of the Plate C car, pics in that thread.

Nice details like the cut bars.

I can't believe you didn't sniff this out on your own Mike. !*roll-laugh*!

As you know, I have been a bit distracted... I'm finally able to focus long enough to get something done.

If Walter would be willing, I could send a clip of one of the reefers cycling so he could add it to his awesome freight sounds.

Had a discussion with PapaExpress about that tonight. As far as we know, there isn't a practical way for a LUA file to know if the car is loaded. Best we could do would be to make it a child sound, and cycle it with a random pattern. I will look and see if we can set a flag manually when the load is set.

Almost a usable skin!

I have been experimenting a bit, but I need an auto running sound file that needs no triggers. It looks as though you can add a child (a load graphic) when the car is loaded. A sound child should work the same way. Of course, since that is so stone simple, it probably won't work.
