That sucks, odd that I can still see routes like Maria's pass and other bnsf related dlc.

We ran into the same issue with our license with BNSF. If RSC can get them to alter the license terms then we will give it a try.

Geeeez.... I remember the days when railroads were more than happy to allow their name on stuff without complicated licensing deals or money needing to be paid. They were just happy with the free PR exposure of it all.

This move is odd since I don't know why they care about regions. I guess you could have someone gift it to you so that it's technically on record as paid for (to placate your own conscience), then have someone send you a copy of the files and you install them manually. Yes....technically it's a breach of the terms and conditions of the DLC, but as long as BNSF got their money in the end from me......I could care less about the T & C legality at that point. And if the DLC is offered in your region at some point in the future, then simply redeem the DLC gift you have on hand in your Steam account. **!!2cents!!**

That is incorrect. We have a license from BNSF. The terms allow us to sell in the US only.

Go figure, hence the VRC webshop only lists USA and Canada. CAN isn't USA however.

On a higher note, this means Steam can disable previousely legal or licenced purchases at will? Without a refund most likely? is that even legal??
One more reason to run Railworks outside of Steam or completely disconnected from Steam by means of an emulator.

dern those stupid licences, bring on the Undec RR and ready to paint templates and we can do any roadname ourselves!!

I don't think they are disabled. You just can't buy them new. I have never had anything I purchased disappear and I run online all of the time. Now if you blitzed your whole RW off and did a clean install that might be a different story.

Has anybody ever read through all the legalese that is Steam Subscription Agreement or DTG EULA regarding the revoke of licenses to a certain company "property" like paint scheme or logo?

All sales are final, but I wouldn't put it past either of them to take away stuff you've paid for. Especially like Buzz said when you re-install your complete Railworks.

Back up your computers regularly, it cannot be said enough, do it!

OldProf, that was a reference to an earlier posting on the thread of VRC's newly opened webshop. I purchased the GP40's almost right away and had to forge an USA address to make the purchase, IIRC. So I now am a non-legal owner of a folder of bits and bytes that represents a locomotive I am not licensed to posess. !*roll-laugh*!
Boo-boo, VRC, for not checking up on me. !!bang!!

All tongue in cheek, of course, but it is food for thought on the Corporate Culture of today's USA and its spreading over the world.

Wonder if gifting will work?
I did a complete verification a week ago so next time I'm on my computer I'll see if it's still there.

We recently renewed our licensing agreement with BNSF. As part of this new agreement, we are now only able to offer BNSF related content to players within the USA. If you already own BNSF content and live outside of the USA you will still be able to use it as normal.

We are working hard with BNSF to expand the terms of our new licence and will look to bring BNSF content back to players around the world as soon as we can.

This whole thing is unfair imo.
Dash 9 pack contains not only BNSF , but NS and CN paint shemes. this restriction doesn't allow someone to buy these two too (Canadians can't get Canadian loco, that's really stupid). Happily, there is other NS C40-9W bundled with NS Coal District route.
also, some items exists for everyone, regardless of BNSF-related content.

list of DLC blocked for non-US customers:
Dash 9
BNSF SD40-2
BNSF GP38-2
BNSF & SF SD75

list of not blocked DLC:
BN F45
SD70 V2 Volume 2
GP9 (contains BN and SF paint schemes)
Marias PAss
Stevens Pass

list of possibly removed from Steam store
I can't find references to these ones
BN GP38-2
BN SD40-2
BNSF ES44DC (in Heritage 2 paint scheme)
