Game Booster

Unread postby buzz456 » Sun Dec 25, 2011 1:00 pm

Way back someone mentioned using this utility. I downloaded it and run it all the time and really think it helps run RW much smoother. This morning I noticed that it had a defrag utility. Three hours later it's still defragging my Steam folder. Interesting.

I would agree. This is a great utility that seems to work well. I do notice that RW seems to crash less with GameBooster running. I could run the sim with max graphics in the options before but it is more reliable with the utility.

Just a heads up. Be careful downloading this thing. I got some sort of silly spyware when I downloaded it (cnet link and link from "official" site itself). It changed all my search engines to Yahoo and annoyed me with this random pop-up about search settings.

I have been running Game Booster for some time now and I really feel it helps on performance of RW.

It was Lonewolfdon that started recommending it, and it's great. Ed will say to get it from it's default website, but I got it from CNET: http://download.cnet.com/Game-Booster/3 ... 13645.html

Ed doesn't like CNET for some reason or another. *pppppffffftttt* !*roll-laugh*!

In case you're interested in reading about Game Booster (instead of blindly downloading it from Chris' favorite site !*roll-laugh*! ), here's a link to the developers site.

Probably find a bit more info about it there than at CNET. *!greengrin!*

Game Booster version 3

Unread postby glenn68 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 10:20 am

I wonder how many foks out there use Game Booster?
I have been experimenting with the latest version with excellent results.
I cant tell you right now but I have game booster turn off some of my un-needed services while in the game and I noticed that my game load times are now really quick and graphics performance is way up and I only have a mid level system. What I can only say that Windows 7 home premimum is loaded with services that weigh in heavy with processor performance.

The newest version is alot better then pervios versions. I am slowly allowing game booster disable the usless windows services while boosting the game. Once I exit the game everything goes back to normal.

Right here and it is free;
www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
Now I am NOT trying to "sell" this or am I involved in anyway, shape or form with Iobit software. I found that if you read up on the documentation and learn the program it actually works great for a average system.
