Howdy all,

Well I made it to Keddie tonight and I have to ask does anyone on this board know where one could find a good yard map for Keddie? Trying to see what's there "today" on google is next to impossible.

Best,

Roger

Only the main, siding, highline connection, and a MOW/setout currently exist.

You presumably know about the free 1960's WP track charts available on the web?

Since you more or less model the present day UP era Feather River route, please don't take too many tracks out.
For interesting operations in our sim we need something to do along the otherwise relative featureless modern day bridge route the former WP sub has become.

FWIK, single track with passing sidings isn't well supported by the current Railworks AI engine.

While I do greatly enjoy driving thru the 3Dtrains Canyon in ORTS with new distant mountain features and other enhancements almost every day (including brand new as of today WP GS64 4-8-4's), I don't want another Donner Pass in Railworks.

Yupper got the charts.

So do I double track it and call it the Future Feather River ????? !*roll-laugh*!

And yes this is a long haul route no doubt, I've been toying with the idea of taking this down to the Sacramento Shops !**duh*!! which would give a little more usefullness to the route, i.e. shunting and short runs between Scramento & Oroville for the local guys, and then Oroville to Portola for the long haul guys I think that would add another 60 miles of track to get to Scramento and then a 100 miles to make the Sacramento yard!

Also is the Reno Branch still open? Looks like it's in ruff shape from google........ !!det!!

Sacramento to Reno........... !*hp*!

Have no fear Buzz it's staying single track. The one good thing about doing it as a modern route, Back dating it just means adding a couple of sidings and a whole lot of track to the Oroville Yard and a couple of spurs.

I noted the thread title says "Feather River Division", when it's actually the Canyon Subdivision of the Roseville Division.

FWIW. *!!wink!!*

Well I was going off a 1986 copy of the "Union Pacific Railroad Western District Condensed Profile" and in there it's called, the "Feather River Division," so that what I ran with. Now if UP changed the name well I guess there is always an edit button on this thread. *!lol!*

Yes, and AFAIK, that was the name given to the WP portion. I believe the districts were all reorganized soon after absorbing the SP, however.

Well made some more progress, I thinking I'll have the mainline done to Portola this weekend if all goes well. Now mind you this is just getting the mainline in. I'll do all the goodies after the track is done. I figure between roads and rivers I'll have plenty to keep me amused, while I'm planting 1.5 billion trees........... **!!bang!!**
