P42DC

Unread postby RvA944 » Tue Aug 06, 2013 9:26 pm

Well not knowing when RW is going to re-release the P42, I've decided to go ahead and make one. As I really want to have this engine in my stable. She's got a long long way to go but I figured I see if there was any interest in this pup. Once I get her finished I'll cut her loose and you guys can play with it if any of you guys want it.

Also, does anyone have a good set of blueprints for this beast? I'm working off some ok line drawings and a one color 4 view that is missing a section. So it's kind of ruff to make this as accurately as I want to. Also a huge plus would be if anyone live close to where they might keep one of these engines, as I could use some detail shots. I live 50 miles from nowhere close to passenger service so seeing one of these is next to impossible. PM if you think you might be able to get me some shots.

We sure need the P42DC. But being 3rd-Party, the asset will not be recognized in Railworks Workshop Scenarios. I have a old "borrowed" copy the Genesis installed in my Railworks but it is not recognized because it is not DLC from Steam Store. I can run 3rd-Party scenarios with it, however.

Looking forward to your work.

Well I'm going to keep working on her as time permits. And thanks for the links there guys. I know she want be usable in the scenarios written for the G-trax's unit but none the less I figured it would be nice to have one to run.

Not that this should stop you from working on your project, but there was a post from Derek at RSC in the past week or so (on these forums) confirming that she's "in the engine shed" and she'll be back "soonish". !!det!!

Anyway, looks like a great start! Looking forward to the progress. !!howdy!!

I believe that it doesn't hurt to have a payware version and a freeware version of the same engine. As long as he builds it himself and if he makes it freeware RSC can't say anything about him making it. Because they don't own Amtrac or the engine title itself, that is I doubt they actually own the rights to the physical engine itself.

Anyways, with a payware version of this engine by RSC I don't believe it would be very wise to make this one payware, then they would have a reason to try to attack him because he would be competition to their sales.

Freeware, I don't believe there's anything they can say about it even if they wanted to, about the only thing they possibly could do is take down the editor's.

Well even if RW releases their P42 before I'm done I'll still finish this one.

Out of all the other engines and locomotives that I have "mysteriously" lost in the last year, wonder why I still have this set with the Genesis and Lord Mannu's cars? Roger, RSC may just pick you up as a "partner" as they have with a lot of other modelers of late, seeing the early quality of your model. Yes, please, keep up the great work! !!*ok*!!

Look at the last time stamp on this thread.... Pretty sure it's not going to be released.
