Minerman,

It's amazing what you have accomplished in just a few years and some odd thousands of hours! Imagine what could happen if you were one of those determined and dedicated types. !*roll-laugh*!

Thanks again for the magnificent work !!!

Well, we would be finishing up Chicago about now if we happened to be determined and dedicated!

I am starting to have fun in Maybrook. There are many of these streets near the track.

Before I pass out - and before tomorrow's Route Progress Update, let's see some images of progress.
This repeat previous shots from page 35 and 36 - so you can see some progress.

I thought it would be interesting on my way out (the end of the route), to be a wise apple on Maybrook. I believe, I have represented every single building, and perhaps even structures in the 1/2 by 2 miles that is the Village of Maybrook.

I just cant help myself... I know, I know ... but its close the track .. I gotta do this.

Those drone shots are to show the overall depth of scenery ... which is critical because of
WINTER!

When we change to winter ... what we could barely see at 200 yards can be seen at 500 yards plus. Its crazy man!
These little pictures do NOT do justice to what you can see on a 24 inch screen.

You want to know the truth - you cant handle the truth. I am out there every day and night on that route laying scenery. You wrap yourself in the scenery that I provide and then complain when its shown how deep its. Truth? Do I take drone shots to show scenery that is so deep and lush YOU NEED a drone to see it all at once. Your GOSH DARN RIGHT I took the drone shot! And if you don't like it, I suggest you STAY in the cab and look at the gauges instead and go about your business. A simple thank you would suffice!

The only thing I could bash about the scenery is how fatal it's going to be on low end computers. Minerman, you have done an amazing job! You have a great eye when it comes to detail! !!*ok*!!

Its time for the Weekly Route Update !

But first, I would like to shoutout Imphantum -- Thank you sir for continuing to ride along! And Berkshirefan - I have a report of an i7 laptop with 4gbs ram and NO card - that runs the Bergen - Clearly that is an outlier. So if you think you can borrow Mom's work laptop and run the Bergen - I say to you "Thank again!" I am VERY attuned to FPS in game, I have used the same build machine for 4 years - I start backing off of the scenery when I get to 20 fps. When I hit ** 11 at Hoboken and still had more detail to put in, I knew that lower end machines were not going to cut it on the Bergen. And yes, its that eye for detail that kills the fps with all this stuff I put in!

As always, work continues. Our last update was on December 23rd. You should have scenery up to and just beyond the Route 208 overpass on the Southside of Maybrook. In past 4 weeks we have put in more the 200 structures, Streets, light poles, trees, some scene detail and generally a good amount of work. I checked my WIP work log and since the 23rd and to this morning I have 61 hours of route time clocked in. This comes out to 15 hours a week. That is on the lower end of what we typically put in.

I know some of you are chomping at the bit to get some new content. Unfortunately, I want to hold on the update until I get to my goal - the overpass for Interstate 84. With scenery, to that point, I could release and then work on the final half mile. Of note, on the South side of the Highway we would have 3 consignees and on the North side another 4. For the record the Maybrook Branch is 6.25 Miles long from Campbell Hall Jct to RT17K. I hope after the update, to keep you guys entertained for a while as I work on Montgomery and Walden and finish up these branches. I forgot to project my next update - at current pace I think I am looking at another month! Not so good. It could change.

So stay tuned - keep driving and Carry On!

Minerman, consider releasing another scenario builder's edition for the route since it's been a little over a year since the last one. With the route stretching to Campbell Hall & Maybrook now, I'm sure some of us could pump out some new scenarios for the bergen.

Great Question. At this time, I am not considering an intermediate release of the route. I want to release and finalize the route on or before the June 1, 2018. I will post warnings/notices in the final 30 days before the route will be finalized. I would prefer, its up to you guys though, to generate scenarios prior to the final release. This would give me the opportunity to debug the route prior to finalization. (We had a broken rail at Croxton and at Suffern that gave RED signals in scenarios on the Croxton Ordinary for example.)

Any further plans for the route will be discussed right here when I get close to final.
Any of you route builder guys that would be interested in building the Main Line please see my other post (Help Wanted).

I had to remove the Starview Apartments reference - that was fraserm not imphantum. !!**sorry**!!
Imphantum made an awesome scenario for the Ordinary called: New York Division: Horsehead Sunset.

As a matter of fact, I have been considering to unsubscribe from the Croxton route. !*don-know!*
With the degree of completion of the current Bergen, I don´t see a reason to keep it.
Actually I will be doing that for some other routes and scenarios as well in order to free some disk space. !*salute*!

Yes, that is the logical conclusion. Once the Bergen is Final - that would make the Ordinary obsolete. Actually, I might as well say it now .. its been over a year. The reason I finalized at that time was for Travel By Trains Pennsy Pack. I promised him, I would give him a finalized route to run on in exchange for those units. Martin is a very awesome and generous man. I salute him and wish him the best. Sadly, Travel By Train has been offline for these past few months. If you see him ... tell him to check his PMs ... I have another 'offer' for him! *!greengrin!*
Thanks to him - we have one very sharp Erie Lackawanna GP35 as DLC.
