VIA "Canadian" Passenger Car Repaints [Update]

Unread postby roinuj » Fri Jun 01, 2012 5:41 pm

I have just submitted a new repaint package to RWA for the community of a repaint set of passenger cars in VIA Rail scheme to represent the Canadian.

[UPDATE] File can be found in the Library. Search: roinuj-VIA_Canadian_Pack

The repaints are for the payware G-TraX Lightweight Passenger Cars

[UPDATE 01/20/2013] The G-Trax Lightweight Passanger Car set is now freeware and available in the library. Search: MadMike1024-GX_Ltwt4pack_RW2

Due to the orginal model configuration there are some non-protypical issues I could not change so these are a representation of the "Canadian".

UPDATE: It appears there could be an issue with the textures when using the repaint with the game setting Graphics Detail set to highest. If your having any issues, try running the game in High Setting and see if that corrects the problems. Please see http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5638&start=30#p59426 for my findings. I will update this post once things are ironed out. You can download the files at http://railworksamerica.com/FileLibrary/TS2012/2012/RollingStock-June-2012.html#roinuj-VIA_Canadian_Pack

Hope you enjoy the repaints.

Super slick job on these. They capture the feel of this old trainset very well. These will look great behind the RSC F40PH when it comes along.

I can't seem to get this to work. I have the required payware. When I try to add them to my routes they are here just not visible.
How can I fix this or what am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

By the way, they look awesome! Wish their were some Canadian routes out there!

There are.
The excellent Fraser and Cariboo and Bay of Quinte routes are available.
Also, the Fort Kent and Eagle River is so close to the border that it's almost Canadian, so a Via train would not seem out of place on it.

Sadly, Doug Smith's Lakeshore West, Aldershot to Toronto will probably never be completed due to Doug's passing away last night.

When you say not visible do you mean you can't see them in the asset list or you can't see them after inserting into the route?

If its the former, I haven't heard of this problem but make sure you have the appropriate GTRax items selected in the asset selector.

If its the later, the only additional items I added to the package was some custom decal child items for the logos and flag which should not effect the loading of the cars if there was a problem with those files. Can you load any of the other coaches from the payware product? If not then I think there could be a problem with your original payware install. If you can but can't see the VIA cars, try re-installing the VIA cars again. I haven't had anyone else mention any installation problems with the package. Before I submitted it, I tired it a couple times and it seemed to work ok on my end.

I hope your able to get them running and can enjoy them.

Also check to see if the GeoPcDx shape files are/were copied from the Santa Fe folder to the VIA folder? The install batch should have copied the appropriate files when run but possibly something went wrong and didn't copy them. !*don-know!*
