Permanently Censored N&W Y6b Trainz Conversion

Unread postby GutoNicolucci » Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:53 am

Hello guys, using the same post I made to publicize the conversion of the Y6b from Trainz 12, I will use it to inform you that I received a notice directly from N3V Games that the use of this model in another series of train simulators is not allowed.

I tried to warn that I requested information about the machine through the Trainz forum, someone told me it wouldn't be a problem if it was something for everyone to enjoy without including gains from it, but it didn't happen. Then the N&W Y6b and the coal cars were permanently removed from my website.

I'm sorry for what happened, but you can be sure that in the not too distant future, Railworks will have something much better!

Greetings to all.

Some of us had discovered it with the rebranding of your website. Thank you so much for the effort you put into it!

Alas, something neat to run.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure N&W 2156 is actually a Y6a and not a Y6b. The question is if the model is modeled after a Y6b with 2156 simply as the number or if it's after 2156 itself, which would be a Y6a.

Per Wikipedia "N&W 2156 is also one of the Y6a's that received a new firebox with an extended combustion chamber of the type used on the Y6b class, which increased drawbar horsepower from 4400 hp (3.3 MW) at 20 mph (32 km/h) to 5600 hp (4.2 MW) at 25 mph (40 km/h). "
In any case, thank you for this model, it does look nice. Keep those rivets polished Zek.

I myself was more confused than rivet counting, but whatever. !*don-know!* It looks and runs nice, and that's what counts.

Has anybody noticed that the front coupler and other various parts do not show up? Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,
Galen

It functions properly. Perhaps you should contact the author of this.

Is the RSC Challenger installed? I would assume based on the text of the original message that various parts are aliased to it, so if it's not installed those will be missing.

The Challenger pack01 must be installed to get the front and rear frames to show.

I looked back at a old thread about the Challenger and it said the coupler was operable but did not show up. This is the same and since it's using dependencies from the ChallengerPacko1 I suspect that's what we have.

I've had the same issue with the front coupler not showing up. What I don't get is that even if you do something like replacing the "invisible" coupler on the ChallengerPack01 with another one, it's still invisible on the models. For instance, I always backup and then replace the Buckeye (Type-E) couplers on ALL of my rolling stock and loco's with the ones that come with the G-TraX, BLE route. And that always work's with no problems, except it won't work if you do it to replace the "invisible" coupler that's in the RSC Challenger and Big Boy packs. Something about their shape files must be blocking us from seeing the couplers.

Other than that, this is a nice looking model and I'm very greatfull to have it made available for us.
