Just a heads up I've released Adriana County on workshop I hope those who get the route have a lot of entertainment out of it. In short it is a fictional route set in grain country but here is the workshop description, some excellent screenshots taken by Claus can be seen on 'any route any era' on this forum.
In 1893 in an effort to link the agricultural industries to the new east-west routes which had been constructed by their respective companies some years earlier, the Grain Growers Union of Adriana County put forward a proposal to finance the new 'South Eastern Railroad Company'. This new venture would see the construction of a short route of 18 miles in length between the towns of Delray in the south and Claiborne in the north. A branch of just over 8 miles in length was to be constructed from Marlane, 11 miles from Claiborne, to Emerald, at a distance of just over 12 miles. A third route to Cannon Rock of 10 miles length was to leave the main at Montibello situated 16 miles from Claiborne. On its completion in the mid 1890's this productive region now had access to a huge aray of markets and would benefit modestly from the prosperity over the years.
Time moves on and we find ourselves in the late 1970's and early 1980's, Burlington Northern and Union Pacific operate the Claiborne-Delray line as a joint venture moving local freight and utilising the route as a short cut for some main line traffic. The branch from Marlane to Emerald has been truncated at Henderson and is now operated by the Adriana County Railroad shortline. The route to Cannon Rock has met its demise, closure having taken place in 1972. Passenger services are but a memory, one or two structures remain to remind us of those heady days of steam and passenger workings.
Grain and other associated products are the mainstay of traffic when in season but many other products are shipped such as stone, concrete and timber, besides many other commodities from local industries.
This route comprises;
BN/UP operated single track, signalled line, linking two main line exchange yards
UP industrial spur with many local industries (unloading facilities exist)
Adriana County Railroad shortline (not signalled)
ACRR Quarry branch (not signalled, loading and unloading facilities exist)
Engine service facilities
Some thirty plus industries over the whole system
Adriana County requires you have the following DLC installed:
Marias Pass
Sherman Hill
Penn Coal
As and when the route is made final (if no problems encountered) JHM Studios has created some great reskins for the Adriana County shortline. He has used Jessie James Digi Rails reskins, a firm favourite of mine but not sure if Jessie would be happy him about releasing them? I guess it would be best for him to contact Jessie via his website?
Thanks
Mark
