I'm also working on this. It's a Alco MRS-1.

So far I've made so much progress on it I don't plan to give it up until I finally do get it into the game. I've also been working on the Burlington Zephyr in the background as well.

Here's some pictures of my Alco MRS-1

And here's a little bit of the 3d cab for it.

I plan for this to be freeware if ever finished.

Just my two cents I have a friend that is working on an RS-23 and an RS-18.

RS-18 is very close to a MRS-1, but also very different.

Here's the engine I'm currently building.

And here's my model so far.

Also, what does he plan to make the two trains?

A little better view from the cab.

Great HD movie of Baldwin S12, with distinctive purring sound of Baldwin prime mover.

Doesn't DTM have an ALCO FA for sale? Granted it's RW 2, but it should still work in RW3, pending an upgrade.

Of course, if they want to build a freeware Alco FA they're are very welcome to do so. Since DTM doesn't own the engine itself. As long as this one is there own work and they haven't copied anything from DTM they can build one if they want.

If a future ALCO builder need some encouragement (mainly C-420 or C-424), Richard Garber is building the A&O Sub from Fort Smith Ark. to Heavner.

Amen to the C-420's. I know Rich will do an awesome job on the portion of the route that he is modelling but having seen 5 or 6 of those beautiful A&M Alcos pulling freight on that line, nothing else would be the same.
