They just ripped out the double track mainline about 20 years ago, a remnant of the boom days of FEC passenger service pre-1960s.
Now they have to put it all back!
It's good to see a return to Flagler's original vision though.
The FEC is involved in anything and everything relating to South Florida's history. Now it will be a big part of the future as well.

A private intercity passenger service? well done indeed :)

dang with all this intercity passengers opening in florida what is going to happen to frieght

well i read something about sunrail phase 1 running on FCEN rails

no phase 1 is the A Line, From Deland to Sand Lake road, they have double track pretty much done to Maitland, as far as freight goes from what i hear most of the freight traffic will run at night
they havent even started much from what i saw on the FCEN tracks

Somebody has decide that they can make a buck doing this. Great! This beats all these trains to nowhere our feckless government keeps proposing. I hope they are successful and prove a model for other places where this might actually have a need.
