US Concrete Coaling Tower

Unread postby GreatNortherner » Thu May 21, 2009 1:27 pm

Colleagues,

Awaiting some last reports from my beta testers, should be ready for you this weekend:
A freelanced model of GN's Great Falls, MT, coaling tower. Cloned from my MSTS version, with new textures and RS's interactive features added, this should be able to load all of your steam engines! I tested it with the Atlantic and the Black 5. Works fine. If the file library here will be open again, I'll upload it here, too.

The coal tower is online!
For the beginning exclusively available at elvastower.com
An upload at train-sim is in the loop, too.

Cheers!

I am looking for a coaling tower for one location on my Clinchfield route at Shelbiana. I have downloaded this model as a prospect, and have installed it. However I cannot find it in Railworks, does it work with RW? If so, what category do i find it. I checked in the assets folder, it is there Ok, but don't know how to find out where it can be loaded into my route. Help Please anyone?
Cheers

Hi,

Have you enabled the "Great Northerner" --> "Allegheny" assets in your route? Then you should find the coaling tower under track infrastructure, both the interactive and the static model (if I remember correctly). It works in RW and RW.

In case you're interested I can also send you the 3DC source files if you wish to modifiy the model to better fit your prototype. Just send me a PM.

!*cheers*!

Thanks for your help michael.
Your coaling tower is the only decent US tower available in the whole of Railworks library as far as I can tell. However, I have not had any luck finding images of the coaling facility at Shelbiana, which at the time I am modelling was a C & O service depot for their steamers. So until someone can prove me wrong, your tower will do just fine.
I definitely have ticked the right spot to activate the product. I used assetsetup in the download folder to install in Railworks, pointing to D:\Railworks\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks is that correct as it seems to be in the right folder is that the right way to install it.?
I cannot find it anywhere in edit mode, what name would it be under ?. Nonetheless, I can find nothing even remotely like it anywhere in track options I don't believe it is showing up. It does however show it as present in packager tab of Railworks startup screen. I even tried deleting the blueprint but nothing. Any suggestions ?

It's in the tracks folder (little signal thingy) under Fuel Point-Coal GN. Obviously you need Great Northerner Allegheny checked.

Thanks Buzz. Before I saw your answer I messed up my previous post. At any rate, I kept looking for GN... assets or even Great Falls, so thanks.

Would love to this uploaded to your website.

Myself, I lost my account at Elvis Tower long ago and I've also heard they're not accepting new members, so a lot of people won't be able download it from over there.

Hmm, wait, it isn't available for download on my website? D'oh!
I'll fix that.

By the way, people can always PM or email me with requests like that or if they can't access some items. Besides RWA, I hardly keep track of the various train simming websites these days and didn't even know that Elvas Tower had changed their new users policy.

Cheers
