Oovee OEM Sound Improvement Packs

Unread postby BNSFdude » Sun Aug 23, 2015 5:10 pm

Hi all, since my relations with DTG or whatever their name of the year is now have fell through, I'll be working on a number of improvements for DLC that I developed the Audio for but never got to quite finish to my liking, or changes were made after the fact that I did not like. This includes:
BNSF/BN GP38-2 DLC
NS GP38-2 DLC
Chicago Racetrack 38-2s
Scenic Subdivision 38-2s
Amtrak Surfliner F59PHI and Cab Car
Coaster F59PHI and cab car
Metrolink F59PH and cab car
Trirail F40PHL
Amtrak F40PH

The nitty gritty of the update primarily focuses on better equalization of the audio to have a better balance between the sounds as per real life levels, as dictated by distance as well. Some specifics include:
GP38-2s:
*Louder engine sounds
*More High Distance stack talk
*Cooling Fans added under high labour
*Traction Motor sounds greatly improved (40 Series Port)
*Dynamic Brake sound improvement, based off of grid current, and proper behavior of the engine RPMs per prototype.
*Horns fixed after being broken post-creation
*Better truck and running gear sound, added flange squeal (40 Series Port)'
*Air brake sounds changed to behave more like prototype

F59s:
*Radiator Fans added under high labour
*Traction Motor sounds improved
*Air brake sounds improved to behave more like prototype
*Horn Behavior changed, quill too, bell changed out entirely for a more favourable recording.
*Metrolink has P2s as primary horn, quill blows the K5LA.

Cab Cars:
*Added Quill to Surfliner Cab car
*Air Brake sounds fixed

F40PH: Payware Update
*Completely reworked sounds to have HEP and non-HEP modes separate to work in correspondence to FanRailer mods.
*Fixed annoying horn glitch
*New horn for TriRail F40PHL
*New K5LA and P5 for Amtk F40PH
*Traction Sounds
*Truck and Running gear noise
*Cooling Fans under labour
*Dynamic Brake improvement

Hopefully by the end of the year. It'll definitely be post 2016 release as to not break things, also as Mike Kam finishes some physics upgrades.

Good news with this. This F40PH pack will not support the Chicago Metra F40PH-3 as that uses another payware soundpack. On the Amtrak F40PH this also includes the Soldier Summit variant. Also interested to know if the NJT F40PH-2CAT will be supported by this as well, or by TheAudioShack.

I plan on having the F40PH-2CAT use the 40 series with a CAT generator sound with it. There'll be a few differences, but not too many.

I see you have a CAT generator sound in one of your old MSTS sound packs (I think 710 sound pack)
