I can see how this could be a great idea.

Well, I have to say up front that I have a low-end system that pretty much sees all graphics sliders set to Low and NO TSX because I get about 1 frame every 30 seconds that way. Yes, a new and better system is in the planning stages. Still, I do keep the number of assets slider set to 10 and can usually get particles or the one to its right set to medium and get reasonable results that even at that low level look way way better than my old MSTS. So here I am struggling to get over Donner Pass in the "Cold Play" scenario.

This is RailWorks 3 after I installed the new GTX 550ti Grahpic Card on my machine. Everything, and I do mean everything has been maxed out. :D

Was it just the card that made the difference or did you make other upgrades?

I already have a 64 bit system with 4GB of RAM and a quad core processor, the old card was the choke point. After I replaced it with the new one, it's like the floodgates opened.

I've got the same set up minus the GTX. Mine is a GT320. Still a 1G but judging by your performance it could be time to get a GTX.

By the time I've saved enough to buy one it'll be the GTX nine hundred and something.
