Won't start a topic at the moment for this, but does anyone here remember these old girls? Just a shell at the moment, no bogies.

I need something that can get up and down the line without a heavy axle load, so might as well build it myself... I have some sounds for it too.

Thanks for the positive comments so far.

Another one from between Tuscan and Koowa. Nothing that exciting.

You say "Nothing that exciting" but you have nailed one of the basics that so often gets ignored in the search for track length - making the ordinary look ordinary and totally believable. Fantastic work. Love the blending of the ballast with the ROW texture and all the other trackside detail.

I've never really been that enthused by the default 'embankments' using the snap to track tools. Hence why I built these lofts. I also used them in an MSTS route which didn't get released.

It's nice to see some positive comments, especially when I was beginning to think the 'workmanship' with this route was resembling that of 2001 built MSTS routes.

G'day mate,
The work you are doing here is superb. Really wish there was more Aussie stuff for TS.

Cheers

Thanks again for the positive comment.

A sigh of relief as Wunkar finally draws to roughly 90% completion. Wasn't a huge task, but I haven't prioritised it over other things. Yinkanie (the line's terminus) will be the next stop, then I will finish off Wanbi, as well as roughly 3-6kms of track each side. Yes, there are a couple of items missing in the image, but it's still better than a bare landscape with just track.

I hope SD40Australia sees this post.

The roads and ROW fences are now in place for the section from Wunkar to Yinkanie, with the fence lofts, farms, and vegetation to follow.

Anyhow, Wunkar yard looking south from near the Mallee Highway.

I've been experimenting with higher foliage densities in the last few hours, and I've noticed that with the Geforce 1060, I can still get around 40fps with the grass density set to 2500000. Here is an example.

It makes it look a tad less unrealistic in my opinion, but I am not sure at the moment whether or not it will run on lower spec computers.

Anyhow, here's an example. Not far off adding vegetation north of Wunkar now, but I am fixing up some level crossings at the moment, as well as fine tuning 18 month old sections of the route to a degree.
